Brett Bell
Director of Bands
Brett Bell is the Director of Bands at Coronado High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brett teaches various classes including Marching Band, Concert Bands, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Guitar Classes. He earned his Bachelor of Music: Music Learning and Teaching and a double minor in Communications and Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University.
During his time at Arizona State University, Brett was a member of many ensembles including the Sun Devil Marching Band, ASU Pep Band, ASU Wind Ensemble, ASU Wind Symphony, ASU Traditional Jazz Combo, Contemporary Percussion Ensemble, and was the creator of the ASU Hockey Drumline. Brett served various leadership roles including "Percussion Section Leader" for the Sun Devil Marching Band from 2022-2024 and "Principal Chair Percussion" for the ASU Wind Symphony from 2021-2022. Brett also performed with Breakthrough Indoor Percussion in 2021 in the World Class Division of WGI on Snare Drum.
Professionally, Brett has worked with various high school band programs across Arizona including Corona Del Sol High School, Basha High School, & Desert Vista High School. Prior to being at Coronado High School, Brett served as the Head Drumline Instructor at Desert Vista High School. In his first year at Coronado High School, he led the Band Program to high acclaim with the Band placing 1st Overall at ABODA State Marching Band Championships in Division IV earning special captions in Music, Visual, Percussion, & General Effect.
Outside of teaching, Brett enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to ASU sporting events, and performing around Arizona. Brett actively performs with the Arizona Cardinals Drumline for various NFL and Arizona Cardinal Events throughout the year

Woodwind Caption Head & Visual Instructor
Jake Franke
Jake Franke serves as Woodwind Caption Head & Visual Instructor for the Coronado Marching Band. Residing for Georgia, Jake brings a vast knowledge of experience in the Marching Arts, Jazz Band, & Saxophone. He is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science: Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering.
During his time at Arizona State University, Jake performed in various ensembles, both stationary and on the move. He was a member of the Sun Devil Marching Band & ASU Pep Band and served as “Low Reeds Section Leader” for three seasons.
Outside of teaching, Jake enjoys going to sporting events, playing video games, and arranging instrumental music for band.
Madison Lashewich
Color Guard Caption Head
Madison Lashewich serves as Color Guard Caption Head for the Coronado Marching Band. Madison brings over a decades worth of dance performance & knowledge with experience in styles including: Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Tumbling, and more. Madison has been a part of the Marching Arts scene both as a musician and color guard performer during her time in Arizona. Madison is a graduate from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science & Communications
During her time at Arizona State University, Madison was involved in various organizations including Kappa Delta Sorority, Devils’ Advocate Campus Tour Guides, and ASU’s Student Admission & Relations Team. Madison currently works for the Admissions Department at Arizona State University as a First Year Student Admission Recruitment Coordinator and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
Outside of teaching, Madison enjoys spending time with friends & family, traveling, and reading.
Jake McColm
Percussion Caption Head
Jake McColm serves as Percussion Caption Head for the Coronado Marching Band. Jake has a vast knowledge of Percussion experience that he brings to Coronado for both the Drumline and Front Ensemble. In addition to teaching at Coronado High School, he also teaches Drumline at Gilbert High School & serves as a Quad Drum Tech for Breakthrough Indoor Percussion. Jake is a graduate of Arizona State University and is a proud alumni of Coronado High School.
During his time at Arizona State University, Jake performed in various ensembles, both stationary and on the move. He was a member of the Sun Devil Marching Band, Breakthrough Indoor Percussion , and Dark Sky Indoor Percussion in the World Class Division of WGI on Quads.
Outside of teaching, Jake enjoys spending time with friends and listening to music.
Woodwind & Visual Instructor/Drum Major Coach
Audrey Hutson
Audrey Hutson is a junior at Arizona State University earning two B.S degrees in Marketing and Business Management. Her marching experience includes being in the Sun Devil Marching Band for three years where she serves as the “Tenor Saxophone Rank Leader”. Prior to her time at Arizona State University, Audrey has also served as a drum major, attending the Smith Walbridge Drum Major clinics for leaders in marching arts. She has also played professionally with the Falconaires Jazz Band playing Tenor Saxophone and Flute, located in her hometown of Chicago. Audrey is also on the Executive Council of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honarary Band Fraternity. She has been serving as the Alumni and Public Relations Officer for two years now.
Outside of band, Audrey enjoys hiking and traveling to as many National Parks as possible. She also likes to golf and play volleyball with her friends. Audrey also spends her time working as a DART Driver on the Arizona State University Tempe campus. Audrey is excited to expand her role with the Coronado Marching Band!
Robbie Borden
Percussion Instructor
Robbie Borden serves as a Percussion Instructor for the Coronado Marching Band. He is a passionate and seasoned musician and educator based in Mesa, Arizona. Graduating from Arizona State University in 2024, he earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Project Management and Integrative Health.
With 13 years of drumset experience and an equal number of seasons in marching band, Robbie has sharpened his talents both performing and educating with a wide range of experience. His marching band journey began at Corona Del Sol High School from 2015-2018, then continued with the Arizona State Marching Band in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. He also played an influential role in shaping Flux Indoor Percussion during some of its formative years from 2020-2024.
Robbie's passion for education shines through in his three years of teaching. He currently serves on the staff at Mountain Ridge and Westwood, and spent two years teaching at his alma mater, Corona Del Sol High School. His commitment to giving back is further demonstrated by his volunteer work at Coronado High School
Beyond the marching arts, Robbie is an accomplished musician. He has recorded two albums with "The Dittemores," a testament to his versatility and deep love for music.
